Ireland has submitted a formal request to join South Africa's complaint against the Zionist regime at the International Criminal Court.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The International Criminal Court announced Ireland's official request to join South Africa's complaint against "Israel" in this court on charges of "genocide" in Gaza.

This action by Ireland is in support of Palestine and an effort to prosecute Israeli officials for human rights violations and genocide in Gaza.

Previously, some countries, including Chile, Turkey, Spain, Cuba, Mexico, Egypt and Libya, had announced their decision to join the case.

Irish Foreign Minister Michael Martin announced last month that Ireland would join the case after obtaining the government's consent for this action under the Genocide Convention.

In December 2023, South Africa filed a complaint against Israel alleging violations of the Genocide Convention in relation to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has continued its brutal attacks on Gaza since October 2023, despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire.

According to local health officials, nearly 46,000 people, mostly women and children, have been killed and more than 105,000 injured.

The Israeli aggression has displaced almost the entire population of the territory amid an ongoing siege that has led to severe shortages of food, clean water and medicine.
