Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: In this meeting, Nader Yarahmadi, head of the Center for Foreign Nationals and Migrants Affairs, welcomed the guests and congratulated them on the New Year, and thanked the Japanese government for its support for refugees living in the Islamic Republic of Iran in improving the country’s hosting process for these refugees.
Referring to the nature of humanitarianism and support for Afghan refugees and the Islamic Republic's honest and sincere hosting of them for more than 4 decades despite the cruel sanctions, he emphasized the need for cooperation and serious support from countries and international organizations for the Islamic Republic of Iran to continue hosting refugees.
Yarahmadi added; The strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the directives of the Supreme Leader and considering the cultural, religious and linguistic similarities between the two nations of Iran and Afghanistan, has been to support the Afghan people and refugees living alongside Iranian citizens and to provide them with non-discriminatory access to extensive educational, health, employment and other services.
In the continuation of this meeting, Tamaki Tsukada, the Japanese Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, thanked the Islamic Republic for hosting the refugees, and, referring to the large population of Afghan refugees living in Iran and the heavy burden of staggering expenses in various fields of education, health, medical treatment, etc. on the shoulders of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized the determination of the Japanese government to support and cooperate with the Iranian government in hosting Afghan refugees. Referring to the importance of the issue of education and training of refugees, he announced the readiness of the Japanese government to provide educational services to Afghan refugees living in Iran.
Referring to the drug problem and the international effects of this issue, Tamaki Tsukada emphasized the need for bilateral cooperation between the two countries and attracting cooperation and support from international organizations for this issue.
In this meeting, Yarahmadi confirmed the statements of the Japanese Ambassador and announced his readiness to develop cooperation with the Japanese government in the aforementioned fields, especially in the areas of sustainable solutions, as well as joint visits to ongoing projects in order to identify the needs of refugees and reflect the humanitarian services of the Islamic Republic, and added; We expect Japan, along with other countries in the world, to increase its direct support to the Islamic Republic of Iran, with a humanitarian approach, to provide services to refugees, especially in the field of infrastructure-development projects such as education, health and treatment.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the Center for Foreign Nationals and Immigrants of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Yaran, referred to the filling of the in-person education capacity of refugee students in the country and the importance of virtual education for refugee students in the current situation, and requested the Japanese ambassador to provide the necessary support for the implementation of the virtual education plan for refugees living in Iran.
