Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Arg page published a press release yesterday (Wednesday, January 8) stating that Maulavi Abdul Kabir, Deputy Prime Minister for Politics, had an introductory meeting with Ali Reza Bekdali, the new charge d'affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran's embassy in Afghanistan, in his office.
In this meeting, Mr. Reza Bekdali emphasized the development of relations and increased economic cooperation between the two countries, and said that activating the Chabahar Port and its opening are at the forefront of their efforts.
Referring to the cooperation agreements between Iran and Afghanistan, he added that the country wants to expand cooperation with Afghanistan.
The acting head of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy in Afghanistan also invited the Deputy Prime Minister for Politics to visit Iran.
On the other hand, Maulavi Abdul Kabir congratulated Mr. Reza Bekdali on his new position and, referring to the historical relations and commonalities between Afghanistan and Iran, expressed hope for the expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Politics said that the Islamic Emirate wants to develop economic and political cooperation with Iran and added that Iranian investors and businessmen should invest in Afghanistan.
He clarified: The Islamic Emirate does not allow its relations with countries to be affected by other aspects, but Afghanistan is striving to achieve regional stability and economic power.
Maulavi Abdul Kabir, while thanking Iran for hosting Afghan refugees, said: “The necessary facilities should be provided for Afghan refugees. They should be treated leniently and the forced deportation of Afghan refugees should be avoided.”
The Deputy Prime Minister for Political Affairs said: There are no factors in Afghanistan that can ruin Iran-Afghanistan relations.
He also added that drug cultivation and trafficking have now been eliminated in Afghanistan and the issue of rights between Afghanistan and Iran has been resolved through understanding, but irresponsible statements in this regard can have a negative impact on the relations between the two countries.
It is worth noting that Afghanistan and Iran have close relations in various fields, especially political, economic and cultural.
