Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Turkey’s Anadolu Agency quoted Kabulov as saying on Wednesday, January 8: “The Taliban have not yet been recognized, but the group that is to be established will replace the Economic Cooperation Commission between the two sides.”
He said: “Next spring, a bilateral working group on trade and economic relations will be established, which will, so to speak, replace the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Relations.”
In this way, the Islamic Emirate will replace the Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, relations that Moscow has with some countries around the world.
According to the TASS news agency, Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special envoy to Afghanistan, said that this move will expand trade, economic, security and political relations between Moscow and Kabul.
Russia currently maintains close diplomatic relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. The country has recently taken steps to remove the Islamic Emirate from Moscow’s blacklist.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently called the Islamic Emirate a strategic partner of Moscow in the fight against terrorism.
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that allows the country’s authorities to temporarily suspend the ban on the activities of organizations on the list of terrorist organizations. According to this law, Russian judicial and legal bodies have the authority to temporarily and conditionally remove the Islamic Emirate from the list of terrorist organizations.
