Nearly three kilometers of TAPI gas pipeline completed inside Afghanistan
According to officials from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, nearly three kilometers of TAPI gas pipeline have been completed inside Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Humayun Afghan, spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, has announced the construction of nearly three kilometers of the TAPI pipeline inside Afghanistan.
The ministry's spokesman told the media: "The TAPI project is currently progressing normally, and since the beginning, 2.9 kilometers of pipeline construction has been completed, welding has been done, and about 3.4 kilometers have been prepared for that area, and acquisition work is also underway."
According to Tolo News, at the same time as this publication, The Diplomat has said in a new report that the Afghan Ministry of Mines and Petroleum continues to work on two influential projects, including TAPI and Mes-Aynak, but the probability of achieving success in these two projects is low.
According to this report, the governments of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan are cooperating in the implementation of the TAPI project; however, India doubts the implementation of this project, saying that without the support of this country, Pakistan’s joining the implementation of this major economic project will not be sustainable.
However, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum added: “85 percent of the cost of this project will be financed by Turkmenistan, and five percent by Afghanistan, five percent by Pakistan, and five percent by India, of which Turkmenistan has promised to pay the remaining five percent of Afghanistan.”
It is worth noting that the total cost of the TAPI project is estimated at ten billion dollars, and Afghanistan, in addition to receiving gas, also receives $400 million annually from its transit rights.
