Afghan Voice Agency (AWA): Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein emphasized yesterday evening (Sunday, January 13) that more than 10,000 prisoners of ISIS elements and leaders are in Syrian prisons, and these prisons are located in areas controlled by the Kurdish militia known as the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF).
The Iraqi Foreign Minister said that the country is closely monitoring 26 prisons in Syria.
Fuad Hussein, pointing out that the "Wadi Huran" region, which extends from Anbar province in Iraq to Dara in Syria, has become a passageway for ISIS elements, stated that Iraq warns of the danger of the ISIS terrorist group, which continues to be a threat to the region.
Speaking at a conference held in Riyadh for Syria, he noted that Iraq emphasizes the importance of respecting the decision and will of the Syrian people in building its political future.
Iraqi security expert Qatari al-Samramed recently revealed that American forces facilitated the infiltration of ISIS terrorist elements, including foreigners, into the Wadi Huran region in western Anbar, Iraq.
Al-Samramed continued: “The information obtained indicates that a number of ISIS terrorists have infiltrated from Syria into the Wadi Huran desert region in western Anbar. This infiltration is taking place with the support and coordination of the international coalition forces.”
He also emphasized: “The international coalition known as the anti-ISIS coalition has paved the way for ISIS forces to reach secret underground tunnels in the said region.”
The expert noted that the terrorists are dispersed in the region in small groups of 3 to 4 people, equipped with modern vehicles and various weapons, and with the knowledge of the American forces stationed at the Ain al-Assad base. This indicates the existence of a scenario whose dimensions are still unclear.
He concluded by saying: The forces of this American coalition are providing an air parachute for the movement of members of this criminal organization from Syria to the Wadi Huran region, which has rugged terrain.
