In this meeting, Sergey Lavrov has emphasized the importance of India's participation in the talks related to Afghanistan through the four-way meetings of Moscow, Beijing, Islamabad and Tehran.

Sergey Lavrov also asked India and Pakistan to talk to resolve their concerns.

He said about the relations between the two countries: "They can ask each other uncomfortable questions and look for answers. "We will also help and try to strengthen cooperation because it is beneficial for the region."

On the other hand, he stated that the fight against terrorism requires the cooperation of Pakistan, Afghanistan, India and other members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Lavrov said that a "center for combating new threats" may be created with the participation of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

He emphasized: "A center to combat new threats including terrorism, drug trafficking, organized crime and human trafficking may be established in 2025 with the participation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries."

On the other hand, Iran's foreign minister added at the same time that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has an anti-terrorist structure and is working well.

The statement of the Russian Foreign Minister was made a week after the meeting of Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Vikram Misri with the acting Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate, Maulawi Amir Khan Motaghi, in Dubai. In this meeting, India announced its readiness to respond to the urgent needs of Afghanistan.

Russia, China, Pakistan and Iran held their third meeting on Afghanistan on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York this month, hosted by Iran's new foreign minister.

In this meeting, the foreign ministers of these countries compared their approaches to solving Afghanistan's problems. India has also previously participated in the processes related to Afghanistan within the framework of the "Moscow format".
