Details of the approval of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza by the Israeli cabinet; the agreement will be implemented from Sunday
Israeli media reported that the cabinet of the regime approved the ceasefire agreement after a long meeting. The Israeli cabinet also announced in a statement that the prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement were approved by a majority of votes and that the agreement will be implemented from Sunday.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Finally, after a meeting lasting more than six hours in the Israeli cabinet, the regime's media reported the approval of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza/prisoner exchange.
An Israeli minister also told Axios that 24 ministers voted in favor and 8 others voted against.
The Israeli cabinet meeting began on Friday evening, and after the vote, a reporting session began, during which the ministers presented their views on the agreement.
The Israeli cabinet also announced in a statement that the prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement were approved by a majority of votes and that the agreement will be implemented from Sunday.
Over the past few hours, since the start of the cabinet meeting, some ministers, including Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Education Minister Yoav Kish, have tried to justify their positive vote for the agreement; they have clearly stated that the agreement is not in Israel’s interest.
Israeli Education Minister Yoav Kish wrote on the social network X: “I voted for the ceasefire agreement at the cabinet meeting.”
He continued: “The price of this agreement is very heavy, but we have a higher moral obligation to return our brothers and sisters to their homes.”
This Israeli official, implicitly acknowledging the failure of the regime’s goals in the Gaza war, claimed: “No matter how long it takes, we will not give up on the goals of our war, which are the return of all our brothers and sisters to their homes. Returning the prisoners to their homeland, overthrowing the Hamas government, and ensuring that Gaza is not a threat to the State of Israel.”
Meanwhile, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar admitted yesterday (Friday) that "after several months [since the start of the war], we have not been able to release a single hostage alive."
Stating that this issue has placed a heavy responsibility on our shoulders as members of the cabinet, Sa'ar stated: "Despite the powerful blows we inflicted on Hamas, we have not achieved the war goals regarding it."
