CNN condemned for paying $5 million in compensation to US veterans in Afghanistan
CNN has reportedly been ordered to pay $5 million in compensation to Zachary Young, a veteran of the US Navy who was accused of extorting money from Afghans being transferred to the United States.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA):The Latin Times reported on Saturday that CNN had accused the US veteran of taking money in 2021.

A Florida court has now dismissed the charges against the veteran and ordered CNN to pay compensation, the report said.

The court ruled that CNN must pay Young $5 million in damages.

In 2021, after the Islamic Emirate took control of Afghanistan, the network's reporter Alex Marcorate claimed that the veteran had asked for money to transfer Afghans to the United States.

Although CNN claimed that the content of the report was correct, the use of the word "black market" was wrong.
