Nigeria Fuel Tanker Explosion Killed 70
According to Reuters, more than 70 people have died after a fuel tanker exploded along a road in the Soulja Local Government Area of ​​Niger State, Nigeria.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): A Niger State official said on Saturday (Jan 19): “The fuel tanker carrying fuel spilled onto the road at the scene of the incident and people rushed to it to collect gasoline without knowing the imminent danger.”

The local official added: “Those who had gone to collect fuel were burned in the flames, as were those who went to rescue them. 70 people lost their lives in this heartbreaking incident.”

Nigeria’s Emergency Management Agency said in a statement: “So far, more than 70 bodies have been recovered, 56 people have been injured and more than 15 shops have been destroyed.”

The injured in the incident have been transferred to hospitals for treatment, and efforts are ongoing to recover the injured.
