Herat-Khawf Railway Project, the Focus of Iranian Official
The Herat Provincial Governor's Office says that the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways delegation, led by the country's Deputy Minister for Commerce and Railway Operation, met and discussed with the Herat Governor about accelerating the process of completing the Herat-Khawf Railway Project.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Herat Provincial Governor's Press Office issued a press release saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways delegation, led by the Deputy Minister for Commerce and Railway Operation, met and discussed with Sheikh Maulana Islam Jar, the Governor of Herat, to expand rail transport between the two countries.

In this meeting, they discussed accelerating rail transport, resolving problems with the Khawf-Herat railway line, registering the Herat-Istanbul corridor (international transport route), facilitating the transfer of fuel, facilitating the issuance of visas for train drivers, starting Herat-Tehran flights, and implementing the passenger transport program via the railway.

The Iranian delegation requested the cooperation of the local administration to implement the above matters.

Sheikh Maulana Islam Jar, the governor of Herat, while welcoming the expansion of rail transport between the two countries, emphasized the Iranian delegation's efforts to address the existing shortcomings of the railway and assured the local administration of its full cooperation in expediting these matters and completing the Khaf-Herat railway project.

It is worth noting that the recent efforts of the Herat local administration to expedite the construction of the Khaf-Herat railway have increased.

In the past week alone, four trains carrying concrete components for the project have been transferred from Iran to Roznak Station in Herat Province.
