Qatar: Gaza agreement should be a prelude to lasting peace
The spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, emphasizing that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza should be a serious step towards lasting peace, said: "The statements of the Israeli officials are purely for internal consumption and we do not attach any value to them."
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Majid Al-Ansari," the spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry, expressed hope yesterday evening (Sunday) that the calm in Gaza will continue until the second phase of the prisoner exchange agreement is implemented properly.

Referring to the round-the-clock effort to reach an agreement, he said that issues such as the return of refugees and the sending of humanitarian aid should be followed up.

The spokesman for the Qatari Foreign Ministry also said that they will not allow the agreement to be a one-stage agreement, but rather a prelude to lasting peace.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar admitted yesterday, after the implementation of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas, that Israel was unable to eliminate Hamas' military capabilities and capabilities during the Gaza war.

However, the Israeli government minister stressed that Tel Aviv will remain committed to achieving this goal.

The Israeli regime attacked Gaza after Operation Al-Aqsa Storm with the aim of destroying Hamas and freeing Israeli prisoners from land, sea and air, but was forced to accept a ceasefire after 469 days of war without achieving the declared goals.

Israel is accused of crimes against humanity and genocide in Gaza by killing about 47,000 civilians and destroying Gaza's civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, medical centers and schools.

Sa'ar said at a press conference in Jerusalem, "Unfortunately, we did not achieve the goal of destroying Hamas," but we were able to transform it from a terrorist army into a guerrilla group.

Ansari also pointed out that Qatar does not care about criticism of the agreement, adding: "The developments have proven that the only way to peace and the return of prisoners is the political path."

The Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that our focus is on the reality on the ground, not what is being said in the media, and noted: "Most of the statements made by Israeli officials are for internal consumption only and we do not attach any importance to them."

He pointed out that Doha is committed to supporting the agreement until its final stage, and said: "We are also following the positions within Israeli society and we believe that these positions are against war and in favor of peace."
