Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): "Mohammed Nazzal," a member of the Hamas political bureau, said: The ceasefire agreement with the Zionist regime includes the gradual withdrawal of the regime's army from the Gaza Strip.
In an interview with Anadolu Agency, he said: Hamas does not want to rule in Gaza, but has proposed the idea of establishing a national administration for the Gaza Strip. This administration is composed of independent and competent individuals who are capable of administering the Gaza Strip in the service, medical and civilian fields. This is what was stated in the document of the Support Committee for the Administration of the Gaza Strip; a document that Hamas agreed to in Cairo but Fatah rejected. The Palestinian resistance groups agree that this document will be the reference for the administration of Gaza.
Nazzal said: The administration of the Rafah crossing is an issue that is being negotiated and everyone agrees that this crossing should be reopened. The mechanism for its reopening is being discussed with Egypt and the relevant parties.
Regarding the statements of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the regime’s remaining in the Philadelphia axis between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, he said: Netanyahu is trying to hide behind some terms after realizing the defeat in the Gaza war. With these statements, Netanyahu is trying to cover up the military and intelligence failure of his forces.
Nazzal added: "The occupation regime will not remain in the Philadelphia axis or anywhere else, and after the implementation of the agreement, we will evaluate the situation."
He said: "Monitoring the Philadelphia axis is the mission of the Egyptian army based on the agreements signed with Israel, and this is not only related to Hamas, but also to Egypt's position. The occupation regime failed to achieve its goals during the war, including destroying Hamas and returning its prisoners by force."
On Saturday, Netanyahu stressed that if necessary, he would return to the war in the Gaza Strip and the army would strengthen its presence in the Philadelphia axis.
Mohammed Nazzal said: "The negotiations were difficult and the occupation regime was trying to achieve what it could not achieve through military action, but the result was the defeat of the occupation regime. The prisoners that the occupation regime thought it could free by force will be released through the prisoner exchange process supervised by Egypt and Qatar."
Regarding Turkey's role in the negotiations, he said: "Turkey was not far from the negotiations, especially in recent months." Israel was against Turkey's role, but we said that Turkey should have a role. That's why they played a big role in the negotiations. Turkey followed the negotiations and monitored them continuously.
Nazzal said: "As soon as the international supporting parties start their activities, efforts to rebuild Gaza will begin. An international fund for the reconstruction of Gaza will be established and the supporting countries will participate in it. As soon as the fund is established, the reconstruction process will begin immediately."
He said: "US President Donald Trump played a role in putting pressure on Israel, but what forced Israel to retreat was the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and Israel's failure to achieve its goals."
The Hamas leader said that it is expected that the Zionist regime will violate the ceasefire agreement. As it did on Sunday under the pretext of not handing over the names of the prisoners.
Regarding the delay in handing over the names of the prisoners to the Zionist regime on the first day of the ceasefire, he said: "The prisoners were in different areas inside the Gaza Strip and it was difficult to communicate with them due to the field conditions."
On Sunday, Hamas announced its commitment to the ceasefire clauses in the Gaza Strip and stressed that the delay in handing over the names of Israeli prisoners was due to technical and field reasons.
Nazzal said: "Given a false character like Netanyahu, we will face challenges and difficulties. We will continue to exert political pressure and communicate with international parties to ensure the implementation of the agreement."
He said that he does not think that the war will resume soon and that the resistance is ready to respond to any violation by the Zionist regime.
Nazzal called on the Arab and Islamic nations to support the Palestinian people.
On Sunday morning, the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement between Hamas and the Zionist regime came into effect, the first phase of which is 42 days, after which negotiations for the second and third phases will begin.
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist regime, with the support of the United States, has waged a genocidal war against the Palestinians, which has left more than 157,000 martyrs and wounded and has caused one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
