Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The deputy foreign ministry spokesman of the interim government announced a meeting on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Afghanistan and China at the Story Palace of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Political Minister Shir Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, Chinese Ambassador to Kabul Zhao Sheng, diplomats and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, university professors, Afghan and Chinese students and businessmen, he said.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal added: The meeting discussed the level, importance and past events of Afghanistan-China diplomatic relations and discussed increasing long-term political, economic and trade cooperation between Kabul and Beijing and strengthening relations.
At the meeting, Shir Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, the political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that Afghanistan's relations with China have become closer than ever since the Islamic Emirate came to power.
Mr. Stanikzai added that peace and security have now been ensured in Afghanistan and there is no threat from Afghanistan's territory to other countries.
The political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged Chinese investors and businessmen to take advantage of this opportunity to invest in Afghanistan.
"We also ask the Chinese government to support the position of the Islamic Emirate in national and international meetings and conferences," he said.
"We respect the religious beliefs and customs of the Afghans and do not interfere in Afghanistan's internal affairs," Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Zhao Sheng said at the ceremony.
Mr. Xing added that China has spoken strongly in favor of Afghanistan at the United Nations and other multilateral forums and called for the lifting of unjust sanctions against the country and the release of Afghan assets.
