Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): TikTok, which announced its ban in the US yesterday, has resumed operations in the country and attributed its return to the actions of US President-elect Donald Trump. This comes as Trump officially returns to the White House today by attending the inauguration ceremony.
The welcome message TikTok sent to its users in the US states: We appreciate your patience and support. Thanks to President Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the US!
Trump previously announced in a message on his social network called "Truth Social" that he intends to give the social network, whose parent company is based in China, more time on his first day in office (Monday, January 20) to find a confirmed buyer before the full ban on the network's activities in the United States is implemented.
TikTok was made unavailable across the country on Saturday evening by the US Supreme Court, and a message with the theme "Unfortunately, the TikTok ban has been implemented in the United States, which means you cannot use TikTok now" was sent to about 170 million users of the network.
Trump previously announced that he may delay the TikTok ban for 90 days after entering the White House. TikTok is the most popular social network in the United States. The social network has been accused of ignoring US laws and making pornographic content available to children and teenagers. US lawmakers have also considered TikTok a threat to US national security.
