Afghanistan demands Turkey issue visas for emergency patients and strengthen hospitals
The Ministry of Public Health says the acting head of the ministry met with the Turkish ambassador in Kabul and demanded that Turkey issue visas for emergency patients and strengthen cooperation with Turkish-backed hospitals in Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The press office of the Ministry of Public Health said in a statement that the acting head of the ministry, Maulvi Noor Jalal Jalali, met with the Turkish ambassador to Kabul, Jenk Onal, and discussed the issuance of visas for emergency patients.
 
The meeting also discussed strengthening cooperation with Turkish-backed hospitals in Afghanistan, capacity building of health workers, child and maternal health care and reviewing previous agreements in the health sector, the Ministry of Public Health said.
 
Mr. Jalali called bilateral cooperation with Turkey in the field of health essential and called for more cooperation in this field.
 
On the other hand, the Turkish ambassador assured of further cooperation in the health sector with Afghanistan.
 
The Ministry of Public Health has previously called for more international assistance to Afghanistan's health sector.
