The US president announced on Wednesday morning that he is ready to meet with the Russian president at his convenience.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he was ready to meet with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin at a time of his choosing.

"Whenever he wants," Trump said when asked by reporters at the White House when he would meet with Putin.

He also called Putin a smart man who did not respect former US President Joe Biden, Sputnik reported.

The US president said his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, wanted a ceasefire and peace with Russia.

"Zelensky wants peace," Trump said, according to the report. He told me this very seriously. But it should be bilateral, so let's see what happens.
