Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a speech in response to Donald Trump: We are ready to meet and talk calmly with Trump on all areas of interest to Russia and the United States, and it is better to rely on today's realities.
The Russian President added: Trump imposed many sanctions against Russia during his first term, which were not in the interests of the United States; very high and very low oil prices are harming the Russian and American economies.
Regarding negotiations with Ukraine, Putin also said: Zelensky is someone who is not willing to negotiate, and supporters of the Kiev regime should force him to lift this ban.
A few hours ago, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian presidency, announced that Vladimir Putin had expressed his readiness to hold talks with his American counterpart, Donald Trump.
Peskov noted in a conversation with reporters that the Kremlin was waiting for signals from the United States in this regard.
The Kremlin spokesman added: "President Putin is ready and we are waiting for signals from the other side and we are all ready. In these circumstances, it is difficult to predict. As soon as something happens, if something happens, we will definitely inform you."
Peskov emphasized: "Russia is ready to negotiate with the United States on nuclear disarmament issues, but it is necessary to take into account the nuclear capabilities of the United States' allies - Britain and France - because reality requires this. It is in the interests of the whole world and in the interests of the peoples of our countries, we are very interested in this negotiation process starting as soon as possible."
Responding to Trump's statements about Washington's willingness to negotiate with Moscow on nuclear weapons, he said that the United States is interested in starting negotiations with Russia on nuclear weapons issues, but the United States itself has undermined the foundations of the nuclear arms agreement between the two sides, and because of this, a lot of time has been lost.
Peskov said: "Of course, there are topics for discussion. This issue must be discussed, although a lot of time has been lost. The ball is in the Americans' court, who in previous periods deliberately stopped all communication with Russia."
The Kremlin spokesman continued: "The legal framework in the field of arms control has been seriously weakened, and this is not Russia's fault. The United States has stopped its participation in this process and has practically destroyed the existence of this legal framework."
Donald Trump has said several times that he wants to meet Vladimir Putin immediately to end the war in Ukraine.
