4,200 trucks of aid arrive in Gaza after ceasefire
The United Nations reported that more than 4,200 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire began.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The United Nations said that more than 4,200 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have entered the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire began, noting a significant decrease in the number of trucks that arrived on Friday.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, citing information received from Israeli authorities and the countries that are guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, namely Qatar, Egypt and the United States, reported that 339 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered Gaza on Friday, indicating a significant decrease in aid on that day.

The agency said 630 trucks entered the Gaza Strip on Sunday, 915 on Monday, 897 on Tuesday, 808 on Wednesday and 653 on Thursday.

Under the terms of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, 600 trucks carrying humanitarian aid were to enter the strip daily during the first phase of the six-week truce, including 50 trucks carrying fuel. Half of the trucks are to head to northern Gaza, which has been under a suffocating blockade for more than 100 days and where the UN has warned of an imminent famine.

Arie Kangu, a spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, said the UN and its partners were working as quickly as possible to deliver the massive aid to an estimated 2.1 million people across the devastated Gaza Strip.

A government source in the Gaza Strip also reported that the humanitarian situation in the north of the Strip remains very dire and requires immediate and comprehensive support to provide fuel and basic materials to aid the victims, and that trucks carrying humanitarian aid must enter the area on a large scale as soon as possible.
