The perpetrator of the desecration of the Holy Quran was killed in his home in Sweden
Swedish media reported that "Sloan Momika", the perpetrator of the desecration of the Holy Quran, was shot dead in his apartment in the city of "Södertälje".
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to the Baghdad Today website, according to information published by the Swedish television (SVT Nyheter), 38-year-old Sloan Momika was shot dead in his apartment in the city of Södertälje on Wednesday evening.

The incident occurred late Wednesday evening when police and medical teams received a report of a shooting inside a residential building after 11 p.m. Police spokesman Daniel Vikdal said that a man in his 40s was found with a gunshot wound inside an apartment and was immediately taken to the hospital.

Swedish television reported that the deceased was Slovan Momica, who burned several copies of the Holy Quran during events last year that sparked widespread controversy in the country and Muslim countries at the same time.

Unconfirmed reports that the event was broadcast live on social media have been circulating, but police have so far refused to confirm the claims. Police have set up a security cordon around the scene of the incident and special teams are working to search and examine the area.

A police spokesman said one person had been arrested in connection with the murder, without giving further details, and did not yet provide an explanation as to whether he was the main suspect.

Slovan Momica arrived in Sweden from Iraq in 2018 and was granted a three-year residence permit in 2021. Momica rose to fame in the summer of 2023 by burning copies of the Holy Quran at several public events as part of his protests against the Islamic faith. These actions sparked widespread protests in the Muslim world and affected Swedish diplomatic relations, especially during the negotiations for Sweden's accession to NATO.

Following his actions, the Iraqi people and even members of his family, relatives and even the tribe to which Momica belonged denounced his actions and considered him an anti-religious and misguided person. The Stockholm court was scheduled to issue its verdict on Thursday on the charges against Momica regarding his provocative actions last year.
