Russia: At least 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have deserted from the country
The Russian Defense Ministry says that, according to Moscow's information, at least 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have deserted their military units and fled.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to a statement released by the Russian Defense Ministry, at least 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have deserted from the country's army.

The ministry announced on Thursday that "lowering the military age in Ukraine is Zelensky's (Ukrainian President) only chance to delay the collapse of the front."

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that Ukrainian forces are sending fresh recruits to the front line without proper training, which is leading to massive casualties in the Ukrainian army.

The ministry added: "The number of recruits in the training centers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, even taking into account the activation of territorial recruitment centers and social support in Ukraine for about 6 months, barely reaches 30,000 people per month."

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported that at least 1,000 Ukrainian soldiers were killed in the past day.

The ministry added: “Russian air defenses shot down two Humvee guided bombs, four HIMARS and 61 drones.”

The critical situation in the Ukrainian army on the ground comes after Donald Trump returned to the White House, insisting on the need to quickly end the war in Ukraine and suspending US aid to the country.

In this regard, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with Fox News that aired on Tuesday evening: “We call on Donald Trump (the new US president) to be on the side of justice and on the side of Ukraine. Putin is not afraid of Europe.”

Zelensky added that Ukraine cannot recognize the “Russian occupation,” but prefers a diplomatic resolution.

The Ukrainian president said in an interview with Fox News that Ukraine needs broader security guarantees.

The comments come after Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier that he was ready to appoint representatives to negotiate with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky if he wanted to participate in the talks. However, he went on to say that because Zelensky's presidency is illegitimate, he would not have the right to sign any agreements.
