Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The head of the Washington, D.C. Fire and Emergency Services Department confirmed that there were no survivors in the plane crash outside the U.S. capital, saying that 67 aboard the U.S. military plane and helicopter were killed.
The head of the Washington, D.C. Fire and Emergency Services Department, John Donnelly, confirmed that there were no survivors in the crash, saying that 28 bodies have been recovered so far.
He confirmed that there were no survivors in the crash, and continued that officials are confident that all the bodies of those killed in the collision between a military helicopter and a passenger airliner will be found.
Donnelly explained that 67 people died in the crash, including 64 passengers on the passenger plane and three on the U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter, and that 28 bodies have been recovered so far.
“I’m confident we’ll do it, and it may take some time. They may need more equipment. The next phase of the operation will be led by the National Transportation Safety Board,” Donnelly said of the effort to recover the bodies.
