Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Bamyan: Alireza Bekdali, the Chief of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan, along with Sayed Hassan Mortazavi, the Deputy Chief of the Embassy, met and talked with Maulvi Abdullah Sarhadi, the Governor of this province, during a visit to Bamyan Province.
The Chief of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran said in this meeting that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to have close and fraternal relations with the government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and to have effective and continuous cooperation in various infrastructure, health and educational fields.
He also expressed his appreciation for the attention of the Bamyan Governor to ensuring security and solving the social problems of the people, especially the efforts to strengthen brotherly relations and bilateral cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan, and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has reconstruction and development programs in 19 provinces of Afghanistan, including the cities of Kabul, Panjshir, Farah, Herat, Kandahar and Bamyan, and in Bamyan province, in addition to educational programs, it has completed the project to build a 120-bed Imam Khomeini (RA) hospital, an important part of which was the construction and preparation of health equipment. According to him, efforts are underway to have this specialized hospital start operating in the near future and be used by the general public.
The Iranian Embassy Chargé d'Affaires also assured of the continuation of cooperation and bilateral relations between Iran and Afghanistan, and emphasized the further strengthening of relations.
Mawlawi Abdullah Sarhadi, the governor of Bamyan, also expressed his satisfaction with the presence of Mr. Alireza Bekdali, the chargé d’affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s embassy, and his accompanying delegation in Bamyan province, and said that ethnic, religious, linguistic, and sectarian prejudices have generally ended in Bamyan province, and that the Shia and Sunni people of Bamyan live side by side.
He welcomed the implementation of development and infrastructure projects in Bamyan province by the government and institutions, and emphasized that Bamyan province is considered one of the deprived provinces that has faced indifference and lack of attention from the central government and some donor countries over the past twenty years, but currently the leadership of the Bamyan local government is trying to attract the assistance and support of institutions and governments in this province to alleviate the problems and needs of the people of Bamyan.
The governor of Bamyan, while appreciating the constant cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Iran, asked the chargé d’affaires of this country’s embassy in Kabul to pay serious attention to the implementation of development and infrastructure projects in Bamyan province.
The governor further promised the acting head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Embassy in Kabul that he would talk to the office of the Leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and relevant authorities about the existing problems in the opening of the 120-bed Imam Khomeini (RA) Hospital in Bamyan at the earliest opportunity and would try to resolve the existing problems and obstacles so that this important health center is ready to serve.
At the end of this meeting, the acting head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Embassy in Afghanistan welcomed the suggestions of the Governor of Bamyan and promised that he would share the suggestions and needs of the people of Bamyan with the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and personally try to provide special cooperation to the problems and needs of the people of Bamyan province.
