Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Turkish presidency announced that "Ahmad al-Julani", known as "Abu Muhammad al-Julani", the leader of Tahrir al-Sham and the "president of the transitional period" of Syria, is scheduled to visit the country tomorrow, Tuesday, at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to Al-Jazeera Mubasher, the institution announced that al-Julani will focus on the latest developments in Syria and the support that may be provided to the transitional period and the Syrian people.
This is considered al-Julani's second trip after assuming the presidency of the transitional period. On Sunday, he also met with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman while traveling to Riyadh. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments in Syria, ways to support the country’s security and stability, bilateral relations, opportunities to strengthen it in various fields, and developments in the regional and international situation.
The Syrian presidential office announced in a short statement on Wednesday night that Ahmed al-Sharaa had been officially appointed as the head of the transitional period and “interim president” of Syria. The statement said: “With the agreement of various Syrian groups, Ahmed al-Sharaa was elected as the head of the four-year transitional period.”
After assuming this position, al-Sharaa welcomed the Emir of Qatar at Damascus airport on Thursday. This is the first visit by an Arab leader to Syria since the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
