Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The Afghan Embassy in Tehran has announced that the acting head of the embassy met with the head of the Center for Foreign Citizens and Migrants Affairs of the Ministry of Interior.
Mr. Fazl Mohammad Haqqani, Acting Embassy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Tehran, met with Mr. Nader Yar Ahmadi, Advisor to the Minister and Head of the Center for Foreign Citizens and Migrants Affairs of the Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on Monday, the statement said.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the problems related to Afghan refugees and the search for solutions to them.
The Iranian Interior Minister announced on Monday that at least 6 million migrants, about 2 million of whom are illegal, live in Iran. He said that 1.1 million illegal immigrants have been deported from Iran this year.
