Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Hours after the White House spokesman officially claimed that the country's security agencies confirmed the claim of President Donald Trump that "the origin of Corona is China," "Elon Musk," US Secretary of Optimization and owner of the social network "X," announced that "the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded research on biological weapons like Corona that killed millions of people."
According to France 24, he wrote: “Did you know that USAID used your taxes to fund research into biological weapons like Covid-19, which killed millions of people?”
In a series of messages on the social network X, Elon Musk described the Agency for International Development as a “criminal organization” that “is past its prime and must be shut down.”
The “USAID” is a military agency that the United States uses to help other countries to advance its foreign policy interests.
The coronavirus pandemic occurred during Trump’s first term in the White House. Trump has repeatedly called the virus a Chinese virus and blamed Beijing for the pandemic, a claim for which no solid evidence has been provided.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt told reporters Friday evening: When Trump announced that the coronavirus had leaked from a laboratory in Wuhan, China, many ridiculed him and accused him of conspiracy theories. However, now the CIA investigation confirms this. She added: Joe Biden had the opportunity to tell the public this truth, but he refused to say it.
This claim is made while the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) investigation shows that the origin of the coronavirus could have been from a laboratory or it could have emerged naturally, and the chances of both are equal.
The CIA spokesperson announced in a statement on Friday that “based on this agency’s investigation, the origin of the Covid-19 pandemic is more likely to have been due to a laboratory leak than a natural origin. Based on the available reports, this agency’s assessment indicates with low confidence that the Covid-19 pandemic was more likely to have been of research origin than of natural origin.”
However, the agency added that both scenarios remain plausible and that the assessment could change with new data.
The updated CIA assessment was released after John Ratcliffe was confirmed as director of the agency in the administration of US President Donald Trump. Ratcliffe has long been a supporter of the laboratory leak scenario, calling it “the only theory that science, intelligence and common sense support.”
The Washington Post reported, citing sources, that the CIA assessment was completed before Ratcliffe was sworn in but was made public after he took office.
The heated debate over the origin of the coronavirus, which has led to a global pandemic and killed more than seven million people, has always been at the center of American political debate. One of the main theories is that Covid-19 had a natural origin and was transmitted to humans from animals. Another theory claims that the virus accidentally leaked from a laboratory in the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the pandemic began. The Chinese government has consistently rejected the lab leak theory.
