Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Trump claimed during a speech at the White House: "The Palestinians and the people of the Gaza Strip have no choice but to leave. Jordan and Egypt should host the Palestinians of Gaza."
According to the TASS news agency, he explained in this regard: "Jordan and Egypt have refused to accept the residents of Gaza, but some people will agree to it after opposing something."
The US president continued: "I do not necessarily support Israeli settlements in Gaza. But there are many dangers in the Gaza Strip and its residents cannot live in these conditions."
According to the report, Trump justified his inhumane and illegal plan by saying, “The situation in Gaza is very dangerous and I believe that the people of Gaza would leave if they had the chance.”
He claimed, “There is not much left in the Gaza Strip and it is an unsafe and unhealthy place. We have enough money in the Middle East to rebuild Gaza. The Middle East has the money to build places for the residents of Gaza.”
Stating that Gaza has witnessed nothing but death in recent decades, the US President added, “Buildings in Gaza are collapsing, shooting is heard everywhere.”
Whittaker: Gaza cannot be rebuilt in the next 5 years
“Steven Whittaker,” the US President’s representative for the Middle East, said, “We want to ensure that the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement is implemented.”
Whittaker said in a statement, “I will meet with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Florida on Thursday to discuss the Gaza agreement.”
Al Jazeera quoted him as saying: “We are trying to reach the arrangements for the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire, and the president noted that the third phase is impossible at the moment.”
The US official explained: “The current agreement and its provisions were drafted by the previous [US] administration, and some of them need to be revised, like the third phase. We are now in the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire negotiations.”
According to the report, Whittaker said that the Gaza ceasefire agreement is complex and that many factors need to be taken into account, and claimed: “Gaza is destroyed and it will not be possible to rebuild it in the third phase for another five years.”
He expressed hope for good results in the first and second phases of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, adding: “The issue of where the Palestinians in Gaza will go is a big issue and that is something we are working to resolve.”
