Trump Announces Readiness for Talks with Iranian President
The US President, by signing a "maximum pressure memo" against Tehran, claimed that he is ready to talk with the Iranian President.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): According to Al Jazeera, US President Donald Trump, who witnessed the absolute failure of the maximum pressure policy against Iran during his first term in office, is now looking for another solution to convince Tehran to come to the negotiating table.

Accordingly, Trump announced in his latest statements: There are many countries, including Iran, that seek peace in the Middle East. He also added that I am ready to enter into dialogue and negotiations with Iranian President Massoud Pezzekian. We see that Iran is close to building nuclear weapons.

While claiming to be ready for talks with Iran, Trump said: "I signed a memo to increase pressure on Iran"; a memo that was a "tough decision" for me to sign and I had "hesitations".

Trump continued by emphasizing the advancement of the "maximum pressure policy" against Iran, adding: "The United States has the right to prevent Iran from selling oil to other countries."

The US president is simultaneously talking about negotiations and emphasizing the "maximum pressure policy" against Iran, while Iranian officials have repeatedly stated that they will never accept negotiations under sanctions and political pressure.

Trump, repeating the Zionist claims that Tehran is trying to assassinate him, claimed: "If Iran tries to assassinate me, we will destroy them."

Trump's claim comes at a time when Iranian President Masoud Pezzekian had previously denied any attempt by Tehran to assassinate Trump in an interview with Lester Holt, a prominent NBC News host, and had described this issue as propaganda by the Zionist media against Iran.
