Negotiations with America will not solve any problem/If America threatens, Iran will also threaten
In a speech to the commanders and staff of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Air Force, Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, referred to the current atmosphere in this country, where negotiations with America are once again being emphasized, and in light of the failed experience of nuclear negotiations, he stated: Some pretend that if we sit at the negotiating table, a certain problem will be solved, but the reality that we must understand correctly is that negotiations with America have no effect on resolving Iran’s problems. He warned America that if they threaten, Iran will also threaten this country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who met with a group of commanders and personnel of the Iranian Air Force and Defense Forces on Friday, February 8, on the anniversary of the historic pledge of allegiance of the country's Air Force personnel to Imam Khomeini (RA), emphasized, referring to the fruitless experience of about 2 years of negotiations with the United States in the 90s AH, and the US's actions in violating all its commitments: Negotiations with the United States will not solve any problems, including economic and livelihood difficulties, as it did not solve them; therefore, the solution to the problems is the "effort of committed officials and the support of a united nation" that we will see this unity and empathy.
Referring to articles and discussions about negotiations in Iranian newspapers and cyberspace and the words of some individuals, Imam Khamenei said: The focus of these talks is the issue of negotiations with the United States and they mention negotiations as a good thing, as if someone is against the good of negotiations.
Referring to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ busyness in negotiating, traveling, and concluding agreements with all countries in the world, he emphasized: “The only exception in this regard is the United States. Of course, we do not mention the Zionist regime as an exception; because this regime is not a government, but rather a criminal gang that usurps land.”
Explaining the reason for the United States’ exclusion from negotiations, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: “Some pretend that if we sit at the negotiating table, a certain problem will be solved, but the reality that we must understand correctly is that negotiations with the United States have no effect on resolving the country’s problems.”

He called the negative experience of the 1990s and about 2 years of negotiations with the United States and several other countries, which led to the conclusion of the Iran nuclear deal, a proof of the futility of negotiations with the United States, and added: Our government of the day met with them, went back and forth, negotiated, laughed, shook hands, and acted as a friend and did everything, and a treaty was formed in which the Iranian side generously gave many concessions to the other side, but the Americans did not comply with that treaty.
Referring to the current US President's words about tearing up the JCPOA, Imam Khamenei noted: Before him, the previous US government, which had accepted the treaty, did not comply with it, and the US sanctions that were supposed to be lifted were not lifted, and the UN issue remained like a bone in a wound that will always remain a threat to Iran.
Referring to the domestic and livelihood problems that most Iranians are struggling with, he said: What resolves the problems is the domestic factor, namely, “the commitment of committed officials and the support of a united nation,” which is the embodiment of this national unity, which God willing, we will see this unity this year as well.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution called “the insightful nation and tireless officials” the factors that will resolve the problems in the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding: The officials are busy working, and we very much hope that this respected government will be able to reduce the people’s livelihood problems and remove the hardships.
Referring to the Americans’ struggle to change the map of the world, he said: This work of theirs has no reality and is only on paper; of course, they also comment, talk and threaten us.
Imam Khamenei emphasized: If they threaten us, we will threaten them, if they carry out their threat, we will carry out our threat, and if they attack the security of our nation, we will attack their security without hesitation.

He considered this mutual behavior to be derived from the Quran and Islamic teachings and said: "We hope that God Almighty will make us successful in carrying out our duties."
