Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: Kurdish news sources reported yesterday (Friday, February 7) about Turkey's plan to destabilize Syria and Iraq and said that Turkey is training ISIS elements.
The Baghdad Al-Youm news site reported, citing Kurdish sources, that Turkey is reorganizing ISIS elements that had previously been defeated in areas such as Sinjar and Makhmour inside Iraq.
These sources, noting that the ISIS elements under Turkish training are Iraqi nationals, reported: Dozens of camps have been established in areas near Azaz and Idlib and ISIS elements are undergoing intensive military training.
According to the aforementioned sources, the number of elements being trained is about 1,200 terrorists, most of whom are residents of Mosul, Salah al-Din and Al-Sharqat in Iraq and are currently being trained by Turkish soldiers.
The aforementioned sources, noting that a number of these elements were also commando forces, said: Training camps are located in several areas inside Syria, the most important of which are in the border areas of Idlib, Bab al-Salamah camp (Aleppo), and the "Barkudan" camp near Azaz.
These sources clarified: Turkey's goal in training these elements is to carry out military operations in northeastern Syria, including Manbij, Afrin and Kobani. Turkey is also trying to target Kurdish security forces by sending these forces to Iraq.
According to this report, the mission of these terrorists in Iraq is to carry out scattered operations and disrupt stability in Kurdish-populated areas and disputed areas.
Baghdad Al-Youm concluded by writing that these statements were about Turkey's role in supporting and organizing ISIS elements again, and the international community has remained silent about these activities. Therefore, if such information is true, it is a dangerous development in Ankara's strategy towards Syria and Iraq, which will cause widespread security tensions in the region.
