Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: A ceremony commemorating the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran was held in the presence of officials of the Islamic Emirate, ambassadors of various countries, religious scholars of the country, political, cultural and social figures, including Hojjatoleslam Walmuslimin Seyed Isa Hosseini, Director General of the Center for Cultural and Social Activities of Tebyan, and the accompanying delegation, at the premises of the embassy of this country in Kabul.
Alireza Bekdali, the Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, while expressing his gratitude for the presence of the guests at the ceremony, especially Mr. Mohammad Naeem, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, honored the Islamic Emirate.
At this ceremony, commemorating the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Bekdali stated that this revolution, led by Imam Khomeini (RA), established an independent military based on religious democracy and, under the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khamenei, placed Iran on the path of honor and power.
He added that despite the unfair sanctions imposed by the US and its allies, the Islamic Republic of Iran has made extensive progress in the fields of science and technology, including aerospace, nuclear, nanotechnology, biotechnology, energy, defense industries, and medicine.
Referring to the policy of the new Iranian government headed by Dr. Pezhakian in strengthening relations with its neighbors, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iranian Embassy stated that relations between Tehran and Kabul are not limited to geography, but are based on historical, cultural, and Islamic commonalities.
Bekdely pointed out the presence of nearly 6 million Afghan immigrants in Iran and said that 750,000 Afghan students and 35,000 undergraduates in Iran enjoy equal educational opportunities with Iranians.
He said: “The numerous visits of high-level political and economic delegations between the two countries, including the recent visit of Dr. Araghchi, Iranian Foreign Minister, to Kabul, are clear signs of the political will of the two neighbors to consolidate and expand bilateral relations.”
Referring to the common will of the two countries to strengthen economic relations, Bekdali stated that trade exchanges between Iran and Afghanistan exceeded $1.9 billion last year and exceeded $2 billion in the first 9 months of this year. He expressed hope that this volume would increase next year. He also emphasized facilitating the issuance of business visas for Afghan businessmen and introduced Iran as one of the leading powers in the region in energy production, electricity, and dam construction.
Pointing out that the geographical and transit location of Iran and Afghanistan has provided the opportunity for regional cooperation between the two countries, he added: Iran and Afghanistan have a privileged position in the North-South Corridor and the East-West Corridor. Meanwhile, Iran's Chabahar Port is considered the safest and easiest route for Afghanistan to access open waters and aims to facilitate trade with the world.
The Iranian ambassador, while welcoming the decree banning the cultivation and trade of drugs in Afghanistan, announced that Iran is ready to cooperate in the field of alternative cultivation. He also emphasized the unique role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in combating drug trafficking and said that Iran has paid a heavy price in this regard. Bekdeli welcomed the formation of the Working Group on Combating Drug Trafficking under the auspices of the United Nations and emphasized the need for regional cooperation in this regard.
He also pointed out the importance of cooperation between the two countries in combating terrorism and extremism and said that Iran and Afghanistan have addressed this issue within the framework of regional security cooperation.
Referring to recent developments in the region, Bekdeli, while honoring the memory of the martyrs of the resistance, announced the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the people of Palestine, Syria and Lebanon. He condemned the attacks of the Zionist regime and emphasized the need to preserve the territorial integrity of the countries of the region.
At the end of the ceremony, the head of the Iranian embassy in Kabul, while expressing hope for the future of relations between the two countries, emphasized that with the will of the high-ranking officials of Iran and Afghanistan, bilateral cooperation will expand based on mutual respect and common interests.
