Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - International Service: The Kremlin announced on Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with Ahmed al-Sharaa, known as Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the leader of Tahrir al-Sham and the "head of the Syrian transitional period."
According to the report, Putin announced Russia's readiness to help improve the socio-economic situation in Syria, including providing humanitarian aid.
In this conversation, the Russian President "emphasized Russia's principled position in supporting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
The Kremlin announced that the conversation between Putin and al-Julani was "constructive, serious and practical" and the two sides agreed to continue the talks.
Putin also wished Golani success in resolving the problems facing Syria's new rulers.
This is the first phone call between Putin and Golani since the fall of the government of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
