The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Herat says that it supports the consolidation of peace and security and the creation of grounds for all-round growth and development in Afghanistan, and in this regard, Ashgabat is trying to take effective steps to improve the economic and social situation in Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Herat: The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in Herat, in a statement issued on the occasion of the country's neutrality and the designation of 2025 as the "International Year of Peace and Trust", stated that neutrality is of particular importance to the Turkmen nation and that this policy has enhanced Turkmenistan's international status among countries in the world.

The statement states that Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality is a fundamental factor in economic growth, improving the living standards of the present and future generations, and ensuring a prosperous and happy life.

The Consulate General of Turkmenistan has also emphasized that the Government of Turkmenistan is focused on achieving a fundamental goal towards its friendly and neighboring country, Afghanistan, which is to consolidate peace and security and create conditions for all-round growth and development. In order to achieve this goal, Turkmenistan is trying to take effective steps to improve the economic and social situation in Afghanistan. Among these measures is the presentation of constructive and creative solutions by the President and National Leader of Turkmenistan at the United Nations General Assembly and other international meetings on Afghanistan.

According to the Consulate General of Turkmenistan, in September 2024, practical work on several major international and development projects has begun in Afghanistan, including the TAPI, TAP, fiber optic, railway, development of Turgandi port at ground zero and other infrastructure projects. These projects are evaluated as effective steps on the path of Afghanistan's economic growth and attracting investment in the country and can provide a suitable platform for solving economic challenges and creating employment opportunities in Afghanistan.

The statement concludes by stating that Turkmenistan hopes that in 2025, which has been designated as the "International Year of Peace and Trust," friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan will reach their peak and both countries will be recognized as messengers of peace and trust in the international arena.
