Mullah Baradar meets with Qatari PM in Doha
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the deputy economic minister of the Islamic Emirate, met with Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani in Doha on Thursday.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Afghanistan's Deputy Prime Minister for Economy, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with Qatar Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani during his visit to Qatar on Feb 12, the Deputy Economic Minister of the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.
The meeting discussed relations between Afghanistan and Qatar, economic issues and investment issues by the government and the private sector.
 
The two sides have had close and good relations with each other due to the presence of the Islamic Emirate's political office in Doha, and Qatar has always played an active mediator in Afghanistan's affairs, especially those related to the Islamic Emirate, including with the United States.
Since 2021, when the Islamic Emirate returned to power in Afghanistan, the foreign minister and prime minister of Qatar have visited the country twice. In 2022 and 2024, we have also witnessed the acting ambassador of the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate to Qatar.
Meanwhile, Qatar's Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mutlaq bin Majid al-Qahtani, has also visited Kabul several times and met with officials of the Islamic Emirate.
