Jordan: Accepting Palestinian refugees is not possible
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi announced that a significant number of the country's residents are refugees and Jordan does not have the capacity to accept new refugees.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Jordanian Foreign Minister said that 35 percent of the country's residents are refugees and the country no longer has the capacity to accept more refugees.

According to a report today (Saturday) by Jordanian media, Ayman Safadi said on the sidelines of the Munich Conference in an interview with the famous British journalist Christiane Amanpour: "We cannot allow Palestinians to come to Jordan."

The Jordanian Foreign Minister made these statements after US President Donald Trump's remarks, which in recent weeks called for the forced migration of about 2 million Palestinians to Egypt and Jordan.

Trump said in a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on February 4 that Washington intends to take control of Gaza.

Trump's statements have been met with strong reactions from Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia.

Arab countries will meet later this month to present an alternative plan to counter Trump's demand.
