Nearly 850 soldiers killed and 16,000 wounded in Gaza war
The Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv revealed that nearly 850 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 16,000 wounded in the Gaza war so far.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Israeli newspaper Ma'ariv reported on Monday, citing the rehabilitation department of the Israeli Ministry of War, that 8,600 of the wounded have suffered physical injuries and 7,500 others suffer from severe psychological trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders.

According to this statistic, 7 percent of the wounded are women, while 93 percent are men. The report says that since the beginning of the fighting, 846 soldiers and police officers who participated in the war have been killed.

Hebrew reports recently announced that the number of Israeli army deaths during the war may reach 6,000.

The distribution of data by type of wounded forces shows that 66 percent of the wounded were reservists, 17 percent were regular soldiers, and 10 percent were police.

The report also cited other statistics on multiple injuries, in which 1,500 soldiers were wounded twice and returned to battle a second time but were wounded again. Others suffered psychological trauma and returned to battle and were wounded again.

The newspaper also published a government watchdog report warning that Israel was facing a major psychological crisis, as it is estimated that at least 3 million Israelis may suffer symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of the war.

Ma'ariv, quoted by ISNA, said of the reports that the latest data paints a bleak picture of the scale of casualties and the heavy toll paid by the Israeli army, reservists, and security forces.

Previous statistics, published in October 2024, stated that since the beginning of the invasion of the Gaza Strip and then Lebanon, 12,000 soldiers had been treated in Israeli hospitals and psychiatric clinics.
