Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Ministry of Justice’s press office issued a press release today (Tuesday, February 18) stating that Maulvi Abdul Karim Haider, the Ministry’s Deputy Minister of Justice, met with Tariq Ali Bakhit, the Deputy Minister of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the organization’s special representative for Afghanistan, and discussed the general situation in Afghanistan, the drafting of laws, and progress in other areas.
The Ministry says that the Deputy Minister of Justice, while welcoming the delegation, emphasized that security and stability have been ensured in Afghanistan under the rule of the Islamic Emirate and the level of crime in the country has significantly decreased.
According to the press release, the deputy minister added that the Western media presents a distorted and unrealistic picture of the situation in Afghanistan and said that the world also sees the situation in the same way.
According to the press release, Maulavi Abdul Karim Haider stated that great progress has been made in all areas in the past four years and emphasized that the visits of foreign delegations are important and valuable in conveying these realities.
On the other hand, Tariq Ali Bakhit, the deputy and special representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for Afghanistan, asked for information about the progress in the legislative process and its progress, and the deputy minister of the Ministry of Justice shared the necessary information with him.
According to the press release, he raised the concerns of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation about Afghanistan and said that he would share the report of his recent visit to Afghanistan with the members of this organization to resolve these concerns.
It is worth noting that the deputy minister of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation had previously said in a meeting with the acting foreign minister that the organization would continue to support Afghanistan.
