Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: Dr. Seyed Rohullah Hosseini, the Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, said in an interview with AVA about the development of sports between Iran and Afghanistan: In relations between countries, the issue of sports has had a significant presence in diplomatic exchanges between governments and nations over the past centuries and has played a role as one of the areas of cooperation in this regard. Sports are considered one of the most important areas of democratization, which has been redefined as joint actions in the field of relations between them. The internationalization of the field of sports has brought sports diplomacy into a new field, which must be understood in a new way in cultural diplomacy.
He continued: Iran and Afghanistan have extensive capacities in the field of sports, a large part of which has been delayed and has not yet entered into the expansion of relations between the two countries. Accordingly, it requires the joint efforts of the two countries to establish a solid foundation in order to expand joint activities between the two countries. Sports, a common language, facilitates dialogue between individuals and nations and sometimes even reduces traditional and cultural differences between them.
The Iranian cultural advisor noted: Iran and Afghanistan have and have an urgent need for such cultural categories in the current situation, and both countries should enter into bilateral cooperation with each other based on a positive outlook in this situation.
Stating that Afghanistan is a land of talents; He clarified: Just as Afghan youth have surprised the world with their talent in the scientific field; the same thing can happen in the field of sports. Sports are a cross-border activity and have a single language. Athletes and sports teams can travel between different countries better than any other social group and play a role in bringing cultures and thoughts closer to each other.
Therefore, according to Dr. Hosseini, the Cultural Counselor of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Afghanistan is ready to help the Afghan people in this field as well. In this regard, Hossein Shams and Reza Kurdi, two prominent futsal professors of the Asian Confederation in Kabul, have been training Afghan coaches.
He emphasized: Efforts to show the cultural capacities of the two countries in the field of sports to the current world, which has become a small village, can be an indicator of cooperation between the two Muslim brotherly and neighboring countries of Iran and Afghanistan. We hope that this event will be the beginning of a favorable process for greater successes in the field of sports in Afghanistan.
