Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Mehdi Norouzi, captain of the national futsal team and former star of the Iranian league, joined the French Gol team on a six-month contract.
This futsal player will become the first Afghan to play in the French league.
Norouzi, who played in the Iranian club league in recent seasons, was a key factor in the success of the Afghan national team in the Asian Cup and qualifying for the 2024 World Cup. Now, by joining the Gol team, he will begin a new season of his professional career in the French league.
Sports Three announced that Mehdi Norouzi will undergo the Gol team's medical tests next week and, if approved, will soon be included in the team's composition.
The Gol team is led by Fernando, a Spanish coach who previously worked with Norouzi in the Afghan national team and played an important role in this transfer.
The Gol team, which is in fifth place in the 12-team French league with 15 points at the end of the first round, hopes to increase its chances of being among the top four teams and advancing to the playoffs by recruiting Norouzi.
