North Korea Unveils Its First "Strategic Nuclear Guided Missile Submarine"

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): This submarine is capable of carrying about 10 missiles and is built in the 6-7 thousand ton class.

 

The construction of this submarine is considered an important step in the development of Pyongyang's military power, especially in confronting threats from the United States and its allies in East Asia, namely Japan and South Korea.

 

Experts believe that the term "strategic guided missiles" in the case of this submarine means that these missiles are capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

 

Previous North Korean submarines have been mainly diesel-powered. Pyongyang has previously conducted tests of underwater ballistic missiles.
