South Korean Impeached President Released from Prison
South Korean media reported that Yoon Suk-yol, who was impeached and detained after martial law was declared in South Korea, has been released from prison by a judge's order.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In the latest developments in the controversial martial law in Seoul, South Korean prosecutors have ordered the release of Yoon Suk-yol and he has left his detention center.

South Korean prosecutors released impeached President Yoon Suk-yol from detention today, Saturday, a day after the arrest warrant was revoked.

A prosecutor's office announced in a statement: "The Special Investigation Headquarters of the Martial Law has sent the order for President Yoon's release to the Seoul detention center today."

In a statement after his release, Mr. Yoon thanked Korean citizens for their support, especially his supporters, and a number of Koreans had come to welcome the ousted president.

His release came after the Seoul Central District Court overturned his arrest warrant on technical and legal grounds, and the Korean politician had been in custody since January.

Yoon had previously shocked the country by declaring martial law in South Korea, prompting lawmakers to vote to impeach him and remove him from office.

The former president's term remains suspended, and the Constitutional Court will soon decide whether Yoon will return to the presidency or step down permanently.
