Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The Union of Generals and Officers demanded compensation from the US to Afghanistan during a press conference held in Kabul on Sunday (March 9) with the participation of general's of the former government.
At the meeting, Lieutenant General Shawar Gul Pashtun, former general and head of the Afghan Generals Union, called for the return of Afghan weapons and military equipment and stressed that the US should be held accountable for the destruction of Afghan weapons.
He said that Afghanistan has had an equipped system since a century ago and the country has been able to resist the world powers, from Britain to the United States.
Lieutenant General Pashtun claimed that after the US entered Afghanistan under the pretext of cooperation, it destroyed the weapons in the country as old equipment and replaced them with its own weapons.
He stressed that the existing documents show that Afghanistan had equipped weapons before the US invasion and the West did not provide new equipment to the country as much as the weapons it destroyed.
The head of the Afghan Generals' Union also called on Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the United Nations to maintain diplomatic relations with Afghanistan and return weapons and military equipment transferred to these countries after the fall of the republic.
He also urged Pakistan to adhere to the principles of good neighborliness, not to block trade routes and to stop air strikes against civilians.
He also claimed that some Afghan soldiers in the United States who consider themselves representatives of the Afghan military forces are lying and have no official representation of the country's military.
He also welcomed the Ministry of Defense's efforts to rebuild military academies and military training centers that were destroyed during the US presence, stressing that these centers should be revived.
Meanwhile, General Kamran Khan Aman said that with the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan, they destroyed many advanced air equipment, including helicopters and aircraft that could compete with US models.
He stressed that the US presence in Afghanistan not only did not lead to development and progress, but also led to destruction, increased drug production and trafficking and created internal differences that even led the country to the brink of disintegration.
He expressed regret over the events during the fall of the previous government, saying some Afghan military aircraft were transferred to neighboring countries and the remaining aircraft were destroyed at airports, causing damage to the country of $18 million.

Najrabi said that in the past, many of Afghanistan's export goods were sold to the world markets in the name of neighboring countries, but now these products are exported under the name of Afghanistan, which is an important achievement for the country.
Finally, General Abdul Sattar Khatgar read out a resolution of the Union and said that Afghanistan has always been based on the principle of good neighborliness with neighboring countries and this process continues, adding that Afghanistan's territory will never be used against neighboring countries.
In another part of his speech, General Khatgar pointed to the issue of preserving Afghan military equipment and weapons, saying the Afghan people would protect their military assets and stressed that the equipment would not be given to any party.
The former military officer also reacted to the US request to hand over Bagram airport, calling it against international law and stressing that the demand would never be fulfilled and that Afghanistan would decide within the framework of its independence and territorial integrity.
