Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Tehran: The international Quranic conference "Unity is the Key to Victory" was held in Tehran last night with the presence of Hojjatoleslam wal-Muslimeen Dr. Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Denominations, ambassadors of Islamic countries, and Iranian and foreign scholars.
Referring to the strategic plans of the Zionist regime against the Islamic world, Hojjatoleslam wal-Muslimeen Dr. Shahriari stated at the conference: "This regime is advancing its goals in stages and has the disintegration of Islamic countries such as Iraq and Syria on its agenda. If Islamic countries remain indifferent to these conspiracies, the threat will spread to other Islamic countries as well."
He also emphasized the expansion of the discourse of unity among Muslims, adding: “The holding of the 38th International Conference on Islamic Unity demonstrates our determination to strengthen the convergence between Islamic sects. Fortunately, this voice is heard today not only in Tehran but also in Mecca, Cairo and other parts of the Islamic world, which is a promise of the formation of a union of Islamic countries and a united nation.”
Continuing the meeting, Hojatoleslam Mohammadreza Mortazavi, Deputy for International Affairs of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Sects, pointed out the importance of the month of Ramadan as a symbol of Muslim unity and said: “In this holy month, Muslims perform common actions and their lifestyles become similar. This opportunity should be seized to strengthen unity among Muslims.” He also emphasized the need for a joint confrontation with the enemies of the Islamic Ummah.
Maulvi Karukhi, head of the Afghan Council of Refugee Scholars, also addressed the role of the Holy Quran in creating dignity and honor for Muslims in his speech and stated: "Today, the Islamic Ummah is facing division and weakness due to lack of attention to the teachings of the Quran. The enemies of Islam have expanded their dominance over Islamic lands with careful planning and the use of science and technology. Muslims must stand against these threats by relying on unity and scientific power."
In another part of the meeting, Salamuddin Mad Aminov, a Tajik preacher, emphasized that the Islamic state can only be realized in the shadow of following the Holy Quran. He added: "If the Quran is revealed to our souls and minds, its blessings will also flow to us. Muslims must strengthen their unity by trusting in the divine promises."
Also, Dr. Adil Borel, the religious advisor to Turkey, referring to the importance of the intellectual independence of Muslims, said: "Our main problem is in the field of thought and morality. In the Holy Quran, concepts such as truth, justice and patience have been repeated many times and Muslims should make these values the cornerstone of their lives.”
At the end of the meeting, Hojjat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Syed Hassan Naqvi, Director of Jamiat-ul-Muntar Institute, Pakistan, considered the unity of the Islamic Ummah as one of the fundamental principles of Islam and emphasized the three fundamental axes of unity: enjoining good and forbidding evil, jihad in the way of God to support the oppressed, and strengthening the common bonds of the Islamic Ummah. He also suggested that Islamic countries provide financial support to war-torn nations by establishing an Islamic Corps and an international fund.
International Islamic Unity Meetings have been held for many years as a platform for the convergence of Muslims and confronting the common challenges of the Islamic Ummah. The World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Denominations is one of the active institutions in this field, having so far held several conferences and meetings with the presence of intellectuals and religious figures. Emphasizing Muslim solidarity against foreign threats, supporting the Palestinian cause, and promoting a dialogue of religious rapprochement are among the goals of these meetings.
