Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): In response to a question from an AVA reporter about the approach of the country's new diplomatic team in Afghanistan, after the election of the new director general for South Asia of the ministry, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran emphasized on the one hand that they are ready for any cooperation to achieve security and stability in Afghanistan, and on the other hand, the country's foreign policy will not change with the change of one or more individuals.
Afghan Voice News Agency (AVA) - Tehran: Ismail Baghaei, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in response to a question from an AVA reporter about the completion of the country's new diplomatic team in the Afghanistan area with the election of Mohammad Reza Bahrami as Assistant Minister and Director General for South Asia of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and what new approach this team will follow in Afghanistan, said: We are ready for any cooperation to achieve lasting security and stability in Afghanistan.
But he continued: "A country's foreign policy does not change with the change of one or more individuals, but rather this policy is formulated within specific frameworks and a clear process, and decisions are made in the long term based on the national interests of the countries, and in the medium and short term based on considerations."
This is while, following the elimination of the Special Representative of the Iranian President for Afghanistan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country had previously told AVA that matters related to Afghanistan would be handled by the acting head of the Iranian Embassy in Kabul and the director general of South Asia of this ministry.
By order of Dr. Seyed Abbas Araqchi, Mohammad Reza Bahrami has been appointed as the new assistant minister and director general for South Asia of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, replacing Hashem Ashjazadeh and before him, Dr. Seyed Rasoul Mousavi. His area of expertise during his working career has been mostly in the field of Afghanistan, especially as the country's ambassador to Kabul for four terms.
