Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): The Israeli defense minister said during a visit to the peak of Jabal Al-Sheikh, "Every morning when Al-Julani (Ahmad Al-Sharaa) opens his eyes in the presidential palace in Damascus, he will see the Israeli army watching him from the heights of Jabal Al-Sheikh, and he will remember that we are here and in all the security areas in southern Syria to protect the residents of the Golan and Galilee from any threat from him and his jihadist friends."
Katz, who is quoted by Rai al-Youm, said that the Israeli army is prepared to remain in Syria for an indefinite period, stressing that the regime will continue to occupy the security zone and Jabal al-Sheikh and will work to ensure that the buffer zone in southern Syria is completely free of weapons and threats.
He also said that the regime will continue to protect the security of the Druze in the region.
The Israeli defense minister said that 40 positions in southern Syria were recently targeted by Israel to thwart any potential threats against Israel.
He said that the Druze in nearby areas will begin their activities in the Golan Heights in the next 16 months.
