Araghchi: An envoy from an Arab country will deliver Trump
The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that a letter from US President Donald Trump will soon be brought to Tehran by an envoy from an Arab country.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Iran, stated to reporters today (Wednesday, March 12) on the sidelines of the country's cabinet meeting: "Donald Trump's letter has been written, but it has not yet reached us. An envoy from an Arab country is scheduled to deliver this letter to Tehran."
He also emphasized, referring to Iran's commitments in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), "Iran's nuclear program is fully dynamic and continues to grow and progress, but we continue to act within the framework of our commitments in the NPT and in this context, we do not set any limits for ourselves."
Araghchi added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always been ready to negotiate on its peaceful nuclear program from an equal position. In this regard, we have also had talks on the JCPOA, and a trilateral meeting between China, Iran and Russia will be held on Friday in this regard." Following the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, and the maximum pressure exerted by US President Donald Trump against the country, he claimed in recent days that he had sent a letter to Iranian officials, but the country's Foreign Ministry had previously denied that any letter had arrived or been received. The details of this letter are not yet known, but it is believed to be in line with the US's preconditions for starting new negotiations. The leadership of the Islamic Revolution and other senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran have emphasized that they will not accept the request for negotiations from "bullying powers" and oppressors. Imam Khamenei emphasized in his latest remarks: "The insistence of some bullying governments on negotiations is not for the purpose of resolving issues, but rather to dominate and impose their own expectations. "The Islamic Republic of Iran will definitely not accept their expectations."
