Leader of the Islamic Revolution:

If the Islamic Republic intended to build a nuclear weapon, America could not have stopped it

The call for negotiations by America is a deception of public opinion
If the Islamic Republic intended to build a nuclear weapon, America could not have stopped it
In a meeting with thousands of students, Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, stated that Iran is not seeking war, but if the Americans and their agents take the wrong action, Iran’s countermeasures are decisive and certain, and the one who will lose the most is America. He noted: The fact that the US President says that we are ready to negotiate with Iran and calls for negotiations is a deception of public opinion of the world.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)-International Service: In part of his speech in a meeting with a group of Iranian students yesterday, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution made some points regarding the Islamic Republic’s negotiations with America.

In the first point, he considered the US President’s words about being ready to negotiate and reach an agreement and sending a letter to Iran an attempt to deceive public opinion of the world and said: This letter has not yet reached me, but America wants to instill the lie that Iran, unlike us, is not willing to negotiate and reach an agreement; While the same person who is saying these things has torn up the results of our negotiations with America. How can we negotiate with him now when we know that he will not act on the results?

Referring to an article in an Iranian newspaper stating that “lack of trust between two people who are at war should not prevent negotiations,” Imam Khamenei said: This is wrong; because even these two negotiators would not negotiate if they did not trust the other party’s loyalty and commitment to the results of the talks; because negotiations in this state are futile and pointless.

He said in the third point: From the very beginning, our goal in negotiating was to lift sanctions, which fortunately gradually become less effective as they continue to be extended.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution added: Some Americans also believe that the extension of sanctions makes them less effective; in addition, the sanctioned country finds ways to circumvent sanctions, and we have also found various ways.

He considered Iran's current problems to be mainly due to domestic negligence and said: If the economic situation is bad, it is not simply due to sanctions, but rather due to the failure to do certain things that are effective in the current situation.

Referring to the words of the Americans who say, "We will not let Iran obtain nuclear weapons," Imam Khamenei said: If we wanted to produce nuclear weapons, America could not stop us; the reason we do not have nuclear weapons and are not seeking them is that we ourselves do not want this type of weapon for the reasons previously stated.

On another point, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution considered America's threat of militarism unwise and emphasized: The threat of striking and starting a war is not a one-sided issue, and Iran is capable of striking back and will definitely do so.

He added: "If America and its agents make the wrong move, they themselves will be hit harder. Of course, we are not looking for war, because war is not a good thing, but if someone takes action, we will respond decisively.”

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described America as on a path to weakness and added: In terms of economy, foreign policy, domestic policy, social issues and other areas, America is weakening and can no longer have the power it had 20-30 years ago.

Referring to those within the Islamic Republic who constantly say, “Why don’t we go to the negotiating table?”, Imam Khamenei said: Negotiating with this American government will not only not lift the sanctions, but will also lead to the tightening of sanctions and increased pressure, and will allow new demands and exaggerations to be raised.

In the final point of his speech, he considered the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance to be stronger and more motivated than before and said: Iranian officials, including the government and the president, are unanimous in this matter that we must support the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance with all our might.
