India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations has told the UN Security Council that "special people-to-people relations" are the basis of India's current interactions with Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA): India's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Parvathanni Harish has told the UN Security Council that "special people-to-people relations" have been the basis of India's current interactions with Afghanistan.
 
Earlier this year, Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Vikram Misri met with Indian Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki in Dubai, Harish said at a Security Council meeting this week on the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
 
"The sides discussed various issues related to bilateral relations and regional developments," he added. The Afghan side appreciated the Indian leadership and thanked India for its continued support to the people of Afghanistan. It was decided that India should consider development projects in the near future in addition to the ongoing humanitarian aid programs.”
 
He also said that New Delhi is closely monitoring the situation in Afghanistan and has been actively participating in regional and international efforts to maintain stability and peace in the country.
 
He added that India's participation in UN meetings in Doha, Moscow and other meetings is "a symbol of our efforts to ensure peace, stability and development in Afghanistan."
 
Harish stressed that since 2001, India has been committed to the reconstruction and reconstruction of Afghanistan.
 
"Our development partnership includes more than 500 projects across all provinces of Afghanistan," he said.
 
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate sees India as an "important regional and economic partner" and continues to welcome New Delhi's positions against Kabul.
 
Officials from the two countries have met several times recently.
