A Palestinian human rights group that has launched a national campaign to reclaim the bodies of martyrs has announced that the Zionist regime is storing the bodies of 676 Palestinians in freezers and military cemeteries known as “number cemeteries.”

 

According to Mehr News Agency, citing Al Jazeera, the thefts began after Israeli soldiers seized the bodies of three Palestinians who were martyred in Jenin in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, bringing the number of stolen bodies to a significant level.

 

The human rights group also announced that 60 children and nine women were among the bodies seized. The Israeli regime has used the bodies of Palestinian fighters as a bargaining chip for years.

 

Last week, former US President Donald Trump strongly criticized Hamas for holding the bodies of Israelis after the October 7, 2023 attack. He wrote in a post on social media: “Only sick and perverted people hold bodies, and you are sick and perverted.”

 

The Israeli regime’s move has met with widespread reactions from human rights organizations and the international community. The organizations have called on Israel to return the bodies to their families so that they can be properly buried.
