Speakers at the grand conference “Holy Ahlul Bayt (AS) Model of Peace and Generosity” on the occasion of the birthday of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS) in western Kabul considered Imam Hassan’s pacifist approach in a world full of tension and conflict as a solution to avoid war, and said that the Imam chose peace with Muawiyah to protect the interests of the Islamic world. At this conference, the representative of the 06th Directorate of Intelligence of the Islamic Emirate considered Imam Hassan (AS) an example of generosity, courage, piety and struggle against infidelity and emphasized that the followers of the Imam should follow these characteristics.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Kabul: The conference "Holy Ahlul Bayt (AS), a model of peace and generosity" on the occasion of the blessed birth anniversary of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS) was held this afternoon (Monday, 17th of March) by the office of the representative of the esteemed authority, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammad Yaqubi (may Allah protect him), in the presence of officials of the Islamic Emirate, dozens of scholars, imams of mosques and religious students at the Imam Ali (AS) Mosque in western Kabul.
 
In this conference, Hojjat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Sayyed Hussain Alami Balkhi, head of the Secretariat of the Council of Shia Scholars of Afghanistan, expressed his appreciation for Ayatollah Yaqubi's special attention to the Islamic world, especially the people of Afghanistan.
 
Referring to Ayatollah Yaqubi's academic standing, he said: He is a young Shia authority who has completed his university and seminary studies and plays a prominent role in the religious guidance of society.
 
Hojjat-ul-Islam Alemi Balkhi also emphasized the need for Islamic unity, adding: “The differences in the religious books of Shia and Sunni are very small, and religious scholars should strive for brotherhood and sisterhood.”
 
He also considered the peace between Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS) and Muawiyah a historical turning point, stating that Imam Hassan (AS) chose peace to protect the interests of the Islamic world and prevent internal and external threats.
 
Maulvi Safiullah Usmani, representative of the 06th Directorate of Intelligence of the Islamic Emirate, also considered the month of Ramadan an opportunity for self-development in his speech, saying that Ramadan is the month of humanization, because the Quran was revealed in this month.
 
He emphasized the place of the Quran in guiding the Islamic Ummah, adding: “When the Muslim Ummah places the Quran at its forefront, it will not be helpless in any political or non-political dimension.”
 
Maulvi Usmani also referred to the personality of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS) and said: “According to Sunni sources, Imam Hassan (AS) was most similar to the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) and his mother, Hazrat Fatima (SA), was one of the women of Paradise.”
 
He considered Imam Hassan (AS) an example of generosity, courage, piety, and fighting against disbelief, and emphasized that the followers of the Imam should follow these characteristics.
 
He then examined the status of Imam Hassan (AS) by citing Sunni hadiths and said: “Imam Hassan (AS) and Imam Hussein (AS) are the masters of the youth of Paradise and have a high status in the sight of the Prophet (PBUH).”
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Sayyid Abdullah Zaki, a member of the Afghan Shia Ulema Council, also emphasized at this conference that Imam Hassan (AS) chose peace to protect the religion of Islam and the interests of the Islamic Ummah, and this decision was a sign of his sacrifice for the interests of Islam.
 
He added that Imam Hassan (AS) was not only a model of peace, but also a model of generosity and did not stop giving throughout his life. The Imam gave all his wealth in the way of God two to three times.
 
He also emphasized that the life of Imam Hassan (AS) can be a model in today's world and added: In a world full of tension and conflict, the peace-loving approach of Imam Hassan (AS) can be a solution to solve problems and avoid war.
 
Hojjatoleslam Zaki also considered Islamic unity to be one of the important teachings of Imam Hassan (AS) and stated: "Imam Hassan (AS) always sought to maintain the unity of the Islamic community, and today, helping the needy, without prejudice and discrimination, is considered a desirable thing."
 
In another part of this conference, Hojjatoleslam Motahari, a religious scholar, read out the message sent by Ayatollah Yaqubi to Afghan students during the month of Ramadan and emphasized the heavy duties of religious scholars in this month.
 
Ayatollah Yaqubi said that Ramadan is the month of revelation of the Quran and students should set up a daily program for reciting the Quran in addition to religious lessons.
 
He also reminded the need for sincerity in worship and added in his message: “Students should avoid hypocrisy in worship and use special prayers to strengthen their connection with God Almighty.”
 
Ayatollah Yaqubi considered Ramadan an opportunity to propagate religion and guide people and emphasized: “Students should participate in religious gatherings and up-to-date lectures and encourage people to help those in need.”
 
The high-ranking Shiite authority also warned that students should not consider themselves distant from people, but should strive to distribute aid to those in need and avoid arrogance.
 
At the end of this conference, 22 students who were selected in the Nahj al-Balagha competition were awarded certificates of appreciation and prizes. Also, a Tawasheh program was held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (AS).
